Choir Lists

From Todd's Email.....

Parents and Students,

May I just say, congratulations to all on a great week at school.  To our final concert which was a smash and a very successful MS showfest which we hosted yesterday.

First off, the rosters for 2011 - 2012 are attached and may I say this was the hardest year yet auditions. We had about 115 auditions, up from last year and the talent at EHS keeps on growing every single year.

Things to remember about this list, and parents please help communicate this to your student:
1. 86 made Gold Rush and 24 Carat, that means nearly 30 made Limited edition from auditions.
2. Every student that auditions makes choir.
3. Next year, Limited Edition will be new and different as they will be Mixed Choir/Limited Edition
4. Mrs. Rader and myself take great care in these lists and these were the most difficult lists I've seen as a director which is very exciting for Mrs. Rader, but the hardest part of our job as well.
5. Singing, Dancing and Expression are the factors for the scoring audition.  Also, when it comes down to the final 2 or 3 students and they are returning students it comes down to the following factors:  tardiness/attendance, work ethic in class, attitude and behavior.
6.  If students would like to talk to me about their audition I am more than happy and then I can send a follow up email to parents on things they can work on for next year.
7.  Note: We have so many outstanding students this year, and this is the first year I have been at EHS and we will have no sophomore girls in concert choir or Gold Rush.  This just says what a spectacular program we have and these are the strongest group of singers yet.
8.  Parents: Please note that I have been doing this a while and I labor, pray and really work on putting together good rosters.  I am not available to be argued at, if you'd like to email me I'd be more than happy to give you my thoughts but I'd rather speak to the student directly since it is about them.
9. Lastly, all students make a choir.  Not even La Cueva can say that. Yes I had to drop a choir this year but it was due to just not as many non-showchoir numbers as last year.  I can also say that this is the strongest program in the state and it will stay that way because of the caliber of talent we have.  I believe I have earned the respect of many and sometimes although I may seem unfair this is just life and I do my best be objective to put together the best choirs.

Thanks and congrats to al
