Fall updates and a note from Mrs. R

Dear Eldorado Choir family,

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Many of you have started shifts at the balloon fiesta and I am proud to be apart of such a hard working group. Please don't forget that the candy and cookie fundraiser ends tomorrow. Students, please check your backpacks for money and or forms you many have forgotten to turn in.

First, I want to re iterate that Solo Thon is cancelled. Next year, when I get to plan the calendar, it will be on there so we have time to plan accordingly.

Second, those going to all state are in great shape. I gave students times last week and look forward to polishing up in the next two weeks.

Next, I am extremely excited about where we are in learning music for our December concert. It took me a few weeks to come up with a theme, but after getting to know you all, I have decided our theme is "Hope for the New Year." Speaking of December, we have a busy schedule with many caroling events. I will keep you posted on those dates and hope you can attend.

Finally, I want to speak to something that is weighing on my heart. Since coming to Eldorado, I have been overwhelmed by the beautiful music we have made thus far. Concert Choir learned an a cappella Latin piece that I sang in college! Impressive is an understatement.
There is so much potential here for greatness and I feel blessed to be apart of it.
That being said, I want to take this opportunity to encourage kindness and civility in the community. At our cores, we all want the same thing - we want this program, steeped in a tradition of excellence, to succeed and to thrive. We all want this.
My mission is for your young singer to be exposed to different types of music, to learn music theory and sight reading, and to foster healthy friendships with their fellow singers.
While I am here to listen and mediate when necessary,  I want to encourage us to talk to each other and work these issues, that will inevitable arise, out one on one. I can do my part by ensuring that your singer receives a quality choral experience. You can do yours by encouraging positivity and keeping the conversations about choir happenings positive and constructive. I have the highest hopes for the rest of the year.

Thank you all again for accepting me into your community. Please don't hesitate to email me if you have questions, comments, or concerns.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Musically yours,
Julia Rose Rossignol
