Dear Area Teachers,

The Rio Grande Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) is hosting a Fall Workshop on October 28th.  We would love to see you and your students there.  The event is free and open to the public.

The workshop this year will be a presentation by Ingela Onstad titled “The Use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Overcoming Performance Anxiety” on October 28, 2017 at 3:00 in Keller Hall on the campus of UNM.  Ms. Onstad recently completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNM and is a LMHC at Age To Age Counseling. In addition to her background in mental health counseling Onstad has enjoyed a varied international career in opera, concert work, and contemporary music. Operatic highlights include performances at Dresden’s Staatsoperette, Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, Landestheater Schleswig-Holstein, UNM Opera Theatre, UNM Symphony Orchestra, and Santa Fe Opera in roles including Musetta in La Boheme, Pamina and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Nannetta in Falstaff, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, and Violetta in La Traviata. Onstad completed her undergraduate degree at McGill University where she studied with Professor William Neill. She earned a Master of Music degree at the University of New Mexico where she studied with Professor Leslie Umphrey.

In addition to the presentation we will have lunch at 1:00 at Brickyard Pizza to catch up with each other.
