Upcoming Choir Event - "Music for Humanity"

YUGA Fundraising Event for all ages: Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity (GAHH) will benefit from the "Music 4 Humanity" Concert and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 21st. The 7 p.m. Concert, showcasing Albuquerque's most talented performing arts youth follows a Silent Auction and Sandwich/Dessert Hour beginning at 6 p.m. at the Albuquerque Academy Simms Center for the Performing Arts. The event is presented by Youth United Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity (YUGA) and The Music Connection. Opening remarks will be given by Steve Thomas, Emmy Award winning former host of PBS's "This Old House" and host of Discovery Planet Green Channel's "Renovation Nation" program. Steve, a winter resident of Santa Fe, NM, became a spokesperson for Habitat for Humanity International in 2011 and we are thrilled that he has agreed to come and open our concert. Performing groups are the Eldo- rado Show Choir, the Tir Conaill Academy of Irish Dancers, the Albuquerque Academy A Cappella Choir, the Encanto Barbershop Quartet, the Albuquerque Academy Guitar Quartet, the Eldorado Improv Troupe, Early College Academy student Nicholas Martinez performing original song "Hey Girl", and other solo performers. 

Ticket Information: Concert ticket prices are $10 for Adults; $5 for Students/Children. Tick- ets are available at the door, at the Albuquerque Academy Bookstore (open during school hours), A+ Academic Coaching at 7501 San Pedro NE (888-7643; cash or checks only) and can be purchased through select organizations or events as detailed on YUGA's website Seating is open. No entrance fee is required to enjoy lobby mu- sic, silent auction and sandwich/dessert hour.
