Preparation for Solos

It is a very busy time and so I wanted to send a checklist to you for Solo/Ensemble and All State, to keep you relaxed. Remember take one thing at a time. 
 
 
 
Solo/Enemble @ La Cueva High School, Saturday, October 18th
 
____  Dress up, no tennis shoes boys
 
____  Music memorized
 
____  Check my singing time @ eldoradochoirs.org
 
____  Arrive 1/2 hour before singing time, check in with Mr. Krier
 
____  Fill out Solo/Ensemble Judging Sheet to give to judge (They are attached to this email)
 
____  Be on my best behavior at La Cueva
 
____ BE RESPECTFUL OF THE PROPERTY AT LA CUEVA
 
____  Do not enter judging room if another student is singing
 
____  Make sure you have the original book your song is in to give to judge
 
____  Check to make sure your measures are numbered in the book
 
____  Relax, take deep breaths and enjoy singing
 
____  Introduce your song to people listening, and a short explanation of what it is about
 
____  Remember the judge is their first to encourage and help you, not to pick on you
 
____  Remember this is a learning experience, LEARN
 
____  THANK YOUR ACCOMPANIST & JUDGE BEFORE YOU LEAVE
 
____  Check out with Mr. Krier, have a great rest of the weekend
 
____  Those who had conflicts this weekend, need to get an Extra Credit Recovery Form (eldoradochoirs.org)
 
 
 
 
All-State @ Popejoy Hall, UNM, Wednesday, October 22
 
____  Make sure you have "Magnificat" memorized and good to go (Parents may want to check with students)
 
____  Get Eagle absence completed and returned to Mr. Krier (Pickup at school, make sure your name is on it)
 
____  Driver or rider permission note from parents, can be written on back of Eagle
 
____  Check Time you are singing, plan to arrive 45 to 30 minutes before hand (Attached)
 
____  Again, dress up nice
 
____  Mr. Krier is hosting, you will check in with him in the Lobby of Popejoy
 
____  BE RESPECTFUL OF THE PROPERT AT UNM
 
____  Review Information Letter about All-State, attached
 
____  You and parents must sign the All State commitment form otherwise you will not be able to sing (attached)
 
____  Bring original copy from book to judge, just like solo/ensemble
 
____  You will first sing your solo, sing the Magnificat, and then Sight-sing, Good Luck
 
____ When sightsinging, find the key, find "do", and then take your time doing your best with pitch and rhythm
 
____  Relax, take deep breaths, enjoy singing
 
____  THANK YOUR ACCOMPANIST JUDGE BEFORE YOU LEAVE
 
____ Check out with Mr. Krier, and return to school
 
____ Officers will stay all day to host the event
